Well Done Ms Mulvey!

After a very tight competition with only two entrants, the winner of the P Pals lyric writing competition has been chosen. It's Sarah Mulvey from Kakuozan! She will receive a set of Potato Pals readers and flash cards. Given that the only other entrant was Brian who wrote the songs in the first place and that none of the 30 odd other participants at the presentation last month could be arsed to enter this competition in the face of such stiff competition, I think it is only fair that Sarah should be the winner. Her magnificent lyrics go like this '(to the tune of "You are my Sunshine").

Today is cloudy
Today is cloudy
It's very gray
outside today
Today is cloudy
Today is cloudy
I want to stay inside and play

Today is windy
Today is windy
It's very breezy
outside today
Today is windy
Today is windy
I want to fly my kite today

Today is snowy
Today is snowy
It's very cold
outside today
Today is snowy
Today is snowy
I want to build
a snowman today

(I nearly gave the prize to myself for the catchy
"You are my son, Kai
My only son, Kai..."
but thought it would be considered unsporting)

For the Brian's record Brian's entry was
I want a GuinnessA lovely GuinnessI want a GuinnessAll black and whiteI want a GuinessSo long and creamyWon't you pull me a Guinness tonight?I want potatoesIrish potatoesI want potatoesWith butter hotI want potatoesSo nice and fluffyWith my potatoes sad I am not

was disqualified as being unsuitable for the Kid's EFL market. Hard luck Brian.

I'm at a loss for words... Who do I thank first? I'm overwhelmed and a little choked up at the moment. The cards will be put to good use at KGIC children's school in Motoyama.

Yay!
