What a great day we had in Osaka. There was a tremendous turnout (over 250 people) and it was great to see Rie Kimura, the illustrator of Potato Pals. Incredible coincidence! When Brian came to Japan 15 years ago he worked in an engineering company. Rie worked in the same company! Rie left the company and went to work for the Potato Club where she started drawing potatoes. Brian left the company to teach English and went on to write Potato Pals songs (without having been in touch with Rie all those years). They only found out when they met last year at an event in Osaka. It's a small world.
